How much does a kitchen remodel cost on the Seacoast?

Why do remodeling estimates vary so much?
The same room can cost very different amounts depending on cabinet and countertop choices, whether walls or plumbing move, and what the demo uncovers in an older home. This is why we take the time to thoroughly assess your project, so we can give you an accurate number based on the real scope, not on a rough square-foot guess.
How We Work
Do you have a showroom I can visit?
Yes. Our showroom is at 103 Kent Place in Newmarket, where you work through cabinets, countertops, tile, and finishes in person during the design phase. Seeing the materials together in one place is a lot easier than picking them from samples online.
What happens after I get in touch?
Our team will contact you for a short call to understand your goals and ensure we can meet your needs before scheduling a time to walk the project. Then Lee Sr., the founder, does the first visit at your home himself. From there we move into design and material selections at our Newmarket showroom, and you get a fixed-price proposal before any work begins.
Who runs my project once the work starts?
One of Benchmark's project managers - Ian (son of the founder) or Johnny (another member of the Veader family) runs your job site day to day, from demo through the final walkthrough. You have one person who knows your project, confirms the layout before demo, and keeps you updated through the build.

Timeline
How long does a kitchen or bath remodel take?
It depends on the scope and how much is changing. A focused bathroom moves faster than a full kitchen with structural work. A typical time frame for a remodel is 6-12 weeks. Regardless, you get a realistic schedule with your proposal, before the project starts, so the timeline is clear up front.
Materials & Selections
Do I have to pick all the materials myself?
No. You choose the finishes you love at the showroom, and we guide the selections so everything works together and stays within your budget. We work with various cabinet, countertop, tile, and fixture brands to fit the needs of your project.
Licensing & Coverage
Is Benchmark licensed and insured?
Benchmark is fully insured, carrying general liability and workers' compensation, and we are an EPA Lead-Safe Certified Firm for work on older homes. New Hampshire does not license general contractors statewide, so there is no state license number to look up, but our BBB Torch Award record and reviews are all public.

Does Benchmark only do kitchens and bathrooms?
Kitchens and bathrooms are our specialty and most of what we do. That focus is on purpose, it is where our design work and 25 years in the trade are concentrated. We do larger scale remodels as well such as additions which typically involve kitchen and bathrooms as part of the new space. If you have a project that extends into these areas, bring it up at your visit and we will talk it through.
