How This Works
A Thank-You to the People We Have Already Built For
Nearly every good job we get comes from someone who had us in their house first. This program is how we say thank you for that, so it is open to past Benchmark customers — the people who already know what our work looks like. There is nothing to sign up for. If we have finished a project for you, you are in.
What You Get
$500 for One Introduction
Paid in two parts, so the first half arrives long before anyone has committed to anything.
- $50 when they sit down with us
- As soon as your friend has their free design consult, that first $50 is yours. It costs them nothing and there is no obligation to go further.
- $450 more when they move forward
- If they sign a contract with us, the remaining $450 follows. $500 in total for one introduction.
- A complimentary handyman day after that
- Send us more than one friend in the same year and each one after the first earns you a full day of our handyman, at your house, on us — worth up to $500. See the list below.

After Your First Referral
A Complimentary Handyman Day
Send us a second friend in the same year and instead of a cheque we send you a tradesman. One full day at your house, up to $500 of work, on us — the small jobs that never quite make it to the top of the list. Here is what a day covers.
- Punch-list touch-ups from a completed project
- Caulking and grout refresh
- Cabinet door and drawer adjustment
- Interior door adjustment and hardware
- Light fixture or ceiling fan swap
- Faucet, shower head, or toilet fill-valve replacement
- TV mounting and cable management
- Shelving, closet rod, or mirror hanging
- Gutter cleaning and downspout check
- Weatherstripping and door sweep replacement
- Drywall patch and paint touch-up
Materials are on you, labour is on us, and we schedule the day at a time that works. Anything bigger than a day is a project, and we would rather quote that properly than squeeze it into a thank-you.

What People Ask
Who can take part?
Past Benchmark customers. This is a thank-you to the people whose projects we have already finished, which is why it is not open to the general public or to trade partners.
How many friends can I send?
As many as you like. There is no cap on referrals. Your first referral each calendar year pays cash; every one after that in the same year earns a complimentary handyman day instead. The cash reward comes back around every January.
When do I actually get paid?
The $50 goes out once your friend has held their free design consult. The $450 follows once they have signed a contract with us. We do not wait for the project to finish.
What if they already called you?
If they were already talking to us before you sent them, we cannot count it as a referral. The program is for introductions to people we would not otherwise have met.
What counts as a handyman day?
A full working day at your house from one of our tradesmen, up to $500 of value, drawn from the published list on this page. It is a scheduled day of small work, not a remodel, and the list is what keeps it fair to everyone.
Does my friend have to use my code?
It helps, because the code is how we know who to thank. If they forget, have them mention your name when they call and we will sort it out at our end.
